Maximizing your savings with coupons is a great way of saving money. But it also takes a little effort as well. You can clip a few coupons hear and there and save a few bucks but the idea is to save a bundle and even get some free items. Here are some tips to really get the most out of your coupons.
Use Coupons With Sales: It can be hard not to want to go out and use coupons when you can to save on items but if you wait and use them appropriately then you have a chance to really save. If you save your coupons and use them for sales then you will not only save a lot more money but you may even get some free items.
Stack Your Coupons: What does stacking mean? It’s when you stack two or more coupons in order to bundle your savings. You can do this by having a manufacturer’s coupon and combining it with store coupons. You can get coupons like this from Target and they allow you to use both coupons at the same time. The savings increase the more coupons you can combine.
You can also save more when you stack coupons with Buy 1 Get 1 Free savings.
Present Your Coupons In Order: Putting your coupons in order can really determine how much you are going to save on that trip. If you have a coupon that reads for example, $10 off a $50.00 purchase you will want to show that coupon first. If you use other coupons prior to that one it could decrease your purchase amount considerably making it impossible to use your $10 off coupon.
Make sure to read the fine print on all coupons however, it could possibly state that the $10 off coupon can be used only after all other coupons are deducted.
Buy One Get One Sales
When a store has a Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale you can use two coupons for both items. You are still purchasing two items and so you can use two coupons which grants you even more savings. Depending on how much the sale is for you may end up with both items for free. If you actually have a coupon that is B1G1 free then that changes things a bit and you will have to check with the store policy to see if they allow those coupons. It can be handled one of two ways:
Option 1 – Both items will be free which is a huge bonus. The store will give you the one free as if you paid for it and the coupon will get you the other for free.
Option 2 – The store may require you to purchase 4 items instead of 2. Two would be free due to the promotion and one would be free as a result of your coupon and then you would be required to pay for the fourth. Although it’s not all free, you still get 3 free items instead of 1.
Coupon clipping can be a tricky experience and everyone makes mistakes. Just stick with it and you will be well on your way to saving money.
